About this book
Josef Mengele was born in 1911 in Günzburg, Bavaria, trained in medicine and anthropology, and became an SS doctor at Auschwitz, where he took part in the selections and experimented on prisoners. After the war he escaped to South America and lived there for three decades.
Graham Whitmore follows his whole life, from his Bavarian childhood and medical training to Auschwitz, his years in South America and the investigation that confirmed his death.
